Many of you have seen the amazing rescue of the dog floating on ahouse washed out to sea, or the heartbreaking images of homeless dogsroaming empty Fukushima towns. Even today, the animals are stillstranded inside the radiation zone.
Imagine your pet without food, water or shelter for even one day. Theanimals in Fukushima endure these dire conditions, day after day. Theyneed your help.
To honor the legacy of Hachiko, and his simple act of devotion andloyalty to his beloved master, I have donated personal photos taken ofChico, the dog starring in “Hachi - A Dog’s Tale” with me, along witha special message. These items, and evacuation updates, will beavailable through The Hachiko Coalition (http://hachiko-coalition.org)website.
As an individual, please do what you can, however small, to help theanimals. You can alert your friends, and family, through Facebook andblogs so that more people are aware of these animals, (and theirhumans), in need.
Think of what you can contribute to help in the rescue and reliefefforts in Japan — then act on it.
The situation is critical. Government operations are underway torescue companion animals, but due to the limited number of peopleallowed in the radiation zone, they are only able to save a handful ata time. Animal rescue groups must be allowed to help in removing thesetrapped animals.
Our pets are the best example of unconditional love…please take amoment, right now, to reduce animal suffering.”

事態は予断を許しません。政府はペットたちの救出に取り組んでいますが、放射能汚染地域への立ち入り人数制限のため一度に助け出せる動物の数はほんのわずかです。逃げ場のない動物たちを保護するために、動物救助団体が活動できるようにしなければなりません。
ペットは、無条件の愛を示してくれる最高のお手本です・・・動物たちの苦しみを軽減させるため、今すぐに、少しだけ時間を割いてくださるようお願いします。
